Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how freddy made another one LLC, the operator of The Odds News ("The Odds News," "we," "us," or "our"), handles information when you use The Odds News iOS app, theodds.news, and related services. This policy is hosted at https://theodds.news/privacy.
Information we handle
- Waitlist information. If you join the waitlist on theodds.news, we collect the email address you submit so we can send app access or product updates. A hidden anti-spam field may also be processed to reject automated submissions.
- Account information. If you create an account in the app, our authentication provider, Clerk, processes your sign-in information. The Odds News receives and stores your Clerk user identifier and, when available, your email address.
- App preferences and interactions. We may store topics and markets you follow, notification preferences, app activity used to improve notification relevance, and probability or event preferences you submit. Reading appearance, cached stories, and saved-story state are primarily stored on your device.
- Notifications. If you enable notifications, Apple and our notification provider process push subscription information so we can deliver, manage, and measure requested alerts.
- Feedback. If you report an incorrect story-to-market match, we receive the reason you select and any optional note you provide.
- Technical information. Our hosting and network providers may process standard request information such as IP address, timestamps, request paths, user agent, response status, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
We use information to operate the app and website, manage waitlist requests, authenticate accounts, provide followed topics and markets, remember service preferences, deliver requested notifications, process feedback, protect the service, diagnose failures, and improve reliability. We do not use your information for cross-app advertising tracking.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate The Odds News, comply with law, or protect users and the service. Current processors include Clerk for authentication, Railway and its infrastructure providers for application hosting, Resend for waitlist email delivery, Apple for push notifications and app distribution, OneSignal for notification delivery, preferences, and related messaging analytics, and Mapbox for map content and related SDK operations. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
The app does not request access to your precise device location. Mapbox may process technical information such as IP address, app or device information, and de-identified map usage or diagnostics under its privacy policy. Mapbox attribution and telemetry controls remain available from the map.
External sources and links
The Odds News displays information and links from news publishers, Kalshi, and other third-party sources. Opening an external link sends you to that provider, whose privacy practices apply independently. The Odds News does not control those third-party services.
Retention and deletion
We retain account-linked information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary for service operation, security, legal compliance, and dispute resolution. We retain waitlist emails until they are no longer needed for launch access or product communication, or until you ask us to remove them. You can delete your account from the Account screen in the app. The in-app deletion flow removes account data, follows, and notification tokens associated with that account. Locally cached information can also be removed by deleting the app.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted HTTPS transport and signed authentication tokens. No storage or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
The Odds News is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.
International processing
The Odds News and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable, providers use contractual and legal safeguards for international transfers.
Your choices and rights
You can disable notifications in iOS Settings, change app preferences in The Odds News, sign out, or delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as The Odds News changes. We will post the revised policy at theodds.news/privacy and update the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the operator through @freddy_0x on X or email hello@theodds.news. Do not include passwords, authentication codes, or other sensitive information in your message.
